Maestro Dino Zonic

DAYTON, Ohio, Dec. 9 /U.S. Newswire/ — The following was released today by MaximsNews.com (See Photos: http://www.MaximsNews.com/redoakproductions.htm )
The Little Stars choir from Zagreb, Croatia — cultural ambassadors for the European Union and one of the top performing choirs in the world — are visiting America to promote peace through musical performance and cultural exchange.
The Little Stars choir, made up of 43 young women aged 10 to 18, will visit New York and Dayton, Ohio — where the Dayton Peace Accords ultimately led to peace in their homeland.
The Little Stars will perform with the Circle Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, featuring the talented students at Stivers School for the Arts, Dayton Public Schools, the inspired direction of Maestro Edin Dino Zonic, and professional musicians in The Stivers Spectacular Winter Concert to be held on Dec. 18 and 19, 2003, at the Dayton Masonic Temple.
The Circle Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir is a group of Ohio musicians that perform with visiting musicians and vocalists from around the world to promote peace through musical and cultural exchange.
Croatian National Television and other media will accompany The Little Stars and The Circle to film a documentary to be broadcast in Europe and the United States.

The Circle’s Maestro Zonic is the most prominent composer to emerge from the Balkans and war-torn Bosnia and Croatia.
His music has bridged cultural, national, and religious barriers to convey a universal message — his reputation has spread worldwide.
Named cultural ambassador of Bosnia, he draws from his wartime experiences to create deeply emotional, highly kinetic, and powerfully dynamic musical works.
He was the founder and president of the Sarajevo-Zagreb International Culture Mission.
In writing and composing music for The Circle, Zonic preserves the intellectual and multicultural freedom of the Balkans.
His work has been recognized by his Holiness Pope John Paul II, his Holiness the Dalai Lama; President Bill Clinton; former UN Amb. Richard Holbrooke; Amb. Dr. Gerhard Pfanzelter; the Dayton Peace Accords; the White House; Croatia and Bosnia; the ministries of culture in England, Scotland, and Bosnia; Croatia Archbishop Franjo Cardinal Kuharic; UNHCR; Bianca Jagger; Balkan Institute; rock legend Jimmy Page; actor Martin Sheen; producer Brian Eno; Initiative Against the War, Muenster, Germany; Through Heart to Peace, London; the mayors of Zagreb, Sarajevo, Split, Muenster, Dayton, and Spilsby; Aileen LeBlanc, National Public Radio; Deborah Amos, ABC NEWS; Time Warner National Television; Voice of America and others.
In the spirit of the Dayton Peace Accords, The Little Stars will be welcomed into the classrooms of Stivers High School and into the homes of the people of Dayton in celebration of peace and cultural exchange.
The Little Stars arrive in New York on Dec. 11 and perform in New York City, Pittsburgh, Dayton, and Cincinnati before returning to Croatia on Dec. 23.
