Miro Gavran’s play Dr. Freud’s Patient premiers & book launch of Judith in Prague

MIRO GAVRAN’S PREMIERE AND BOOK LAUNCH IN PRAGUE

The Croatian author Miro Gavran’s play, Dr. Freud’s Patient, will be premiered at the NA PRADLE Theatre in Prague, the Czech Republic, on November 6, 2007. Dagmar Ruljančić has translated the play and it is being directed by Jiri Babek, scenography by Ljubica Babek-Melcerova.
Main roles will be played by Lukaš Kral, Matouš Ruml and Šarka Mukova.
A few days later, on November 15, 2007 Gavrans novel Judith will be launched at the RETEZOVA Literary Café in Prague. The novel has been translated by Jaroslav Otčenašek and published by DAUPHIN Publishers. The author and the translator will be speaking at the novel’s promotion, along with the publisher Daniel Podhradsky. Excerpts from the novel will be interpreted by the actors Helena Karochova and Svatoslav Schuller. The Czech edition of Gavran’s Judith can be ordered via [email protected].
The patron of the book launch will be the Croatian Embassy in Prague.

PREMIJERA I PROMOCIJA MIRE GAVRANA U PRAGU
Hrvatski književnik Miro Gavran imat će 6.11.2007. godine premijernu izvedbu svoje drame PACIJENT DOKTORA FREUDA u Pragu,u Češkoj, u Teatru NA PRADLE. Tekst je na češki prevela Dagmar Ruljančić, dok je redatelj predstave Jiri Babek. Scenograf je Ljubica Babek- Malcerova. U glavnim ulogama nastupaju: Lukaš Kral, Matouš Ruml i Šarka Mukova.
Nekoliko dana potom, 15.11.2007. bit će u Pragu u Literarnoj kavani RETEZOVE promocija romana Mire Gavrana JUDITA , koji je na češki jezik Preveo Jaroslav Otčenašek, a objavila Naklada DAUPHIN. Češko izdanje Gavranove Judite može se naručiti preko [email protected].
Na promociji će govoriti autor i prevoditelj, te izdavač Daniel Podhradsky, dok će ulomke iz romana interpretirati glumci Helena Karochova i Svatoslav Schuller.
Pokrovitelj promocije bit će Hrvatsko veleposlanstvo u Pragu.

Gostovanje dramskog pisca Mire Gavran u Češkoj u svibnju 2007.

Pod pokroviteljstvom vlp. Marijana Ramuščaka u Srednječeškom kazalištu u Kladnu 9. svibnja 2007. organizirana je svečanost u čast hrvatskog pisca Mire Gavrana. Na svečanosti su o autoru govorili direktorica kazališta Blanka Bendola, gradonačelnik Kladna Dan Jiranek, režiser Štepan Chalupa i veleposalnik Marijan Ramuščak koji je otvorio svečanost.

Miro Gavran jedan je od najpoznatijih hrvatskih dramskih pisaca, njegova djela su prevedena na 25 jezika, imao je oko 130 kazališnih premjera diljem svijeta, od toga četiri u Češkoj, a dobitnik je i dvadesetak domaćih i inozemnih književnih nagrada.

U kazalištu Kladno ovom prilikom izvedena je Gavranova drama “Sve o ženama” u režiji Štepana Chaloupke, koja se s uspjehom izvodi od prošle jeseni. U pauzi predstave glumci kazališta čitali su odlomke iz njegove knjige “Judita” u češkom prijevodu dr. Jaroslava Otčenašeka, čime je najavljeno skoro izdanje toga djela u izdanju “Naknadetelstvi Dauphin” iz Praga. U foajeu kazališta izloženi su radovi hrvatskog slikara Antuna Snovaka pod nazivom “Slika je nijema pjesma”.

Na filozofskom fakultetu Karlovog sveučilišta u Pragu Miro Gavran je održao prezentaciju svog dramskog i proznog opusa za studente kroatistike. Ulomke iz njegovih drama i romana čitala je njegova supruga glumica Mladena Gavran.

“Judith” has gone through six editions in the Croatian language (Mozaik knjiga, Zagreb).
The novel has been published in translation in Russian (Azbooka Publishers, St Petersburg), French (Theatroom noctuabundi, Paris), German (Seifert Verlag Vienna), Slovenian (Orbis, Ljubljana), Slovakian (Publisher Jan Jankovic, Bratislava), English (ITG, Zagreb), Norwegian (Engelstad Forlag, Oslo) and Serbian (Most Art, Zemun).
An edition is being prepared in Catalan (Editoral Ensiola, Muro-Mallorca), and it has been translated into Polish and Czech.
The PONTO theatrical company premiered “Judith” in Esperanto in Beijing, China, at the World Esperanto Conference.

Two digressions:

It is little known that Siegmund Freud has been portrayed in 1931 by Oscar Nemon (1906-1985), outstanding sculptor and medallist, born in Osijek, Croatia.

Very beutiful 16th century Croatian coats of arms can be seen in the Cathedral of St Vitus in Hradčany, Prague, Czechia: Regnum Sclavoniae, Croatiae, Dalmatiae, on the left from the main altar. They appear together with several dozens of other old European coats of arms. Drawings seem to be unknown in Croatian heraldic literature.
