Damir Martin Croatian rower winning silver medal of golden glitter at 2016 Olympic Games in men's single sculls

Posted on August 20, 2016August 9, 2026 by Nenad N. Bach and Darko Žubrinić
According to the current rules of FISA (The International Rowing Federation), if two competitors finish
within one hundredth of the second, then their result is considered to be a dead heat.
The Olympic Committee did not respect this rule of FISA, and hence did grave injustice to Damir Martin,
who eventually should have been decorated with gold medal as well as M. Drysdale.

These two rowers (Drysdale and Martin), both finishing with 6:41:34,
i.e., with the same time up to one hundredth of the second.
(Precise measurements reveal the difference of just five-thousandths of a second.)

Less than 1/100th is not possible to measure acording FISA RULE BOOK , Rule 79.
Here, FISA is the acronym of The International Rowing Federation.
FISA Rule Book: In Rule 79: … 4.) ‘Timing – … finish times shall be recorded to 1/100th of seconds. …* in Rule 80 * When the order of two or more crews is too close for any difference to be determined, then the result shall be declared a dead heat between the crews involved….
